Cirebon – The head of the Buntet Islamic boarding school, Mertapada Kulon Village, Astanajapura District, Cirebon Regency, West Java, KH Adib Rofiuddin Izza expressed his support for candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
This support was conveyed directly by KH Adib at the headquarters of the National Campaign Team (TKN) of Prabowo-Gibran in the Jakarta area on Wednesday, January 3, 2023.
“Our hope is clear, I have conveyed to Mr. Prabowo that Mr. Prabowo is very concerned about Islamic boarding schools and the community,” said KH Adib.
KH Adib is convinced that Prabowo is not a power-hungry person, because the former Commander of Kopassus wants to serve the nation.
“I am sure that he does not expect a position, he does not expect anything, only one thing, to serve the nation and the country,” expressed KH Adib.
Furthermore, the charismatic cleric denied what had been reported before, where the name of the head of Ponpes Buntet was mentioned as supporting the Ganjar-Mahfud pair.
KH Adib emphasized that he has supported Prabowo since long ago, because there is an emotional bond between him and the Indonesian Minister of Defense.
“That’s the political dynamic, but maybe the ladies or gentlemen don’t know my emotional connection with Mr. Prabowo,” said KH Adib.
In line with this, the Chief of the TKN Prabowo-Gibran Advisory Board, M. Iriawan, expressed his gratitude for the support.
“Of course, I am grateful to him, my teacher, my cleric, from the Buntet Islamic boarding school. I have been interacting for quite a long time in Buntet when I was there too. Certainly, because this is an extraordinary, old, charismatic Islamic boarding school, and it has quite a lot of students,” said the man who is familiarly called Iwan Bule in the same location.
Iwan Bule is convinced that this support will strengthen the voice of Prabowo-Gibran, especially in the West Java region, so that they can win convincingly.
“God willing, West Java will bring a quite convincing victory later, we pray. What is clear is that I am grateful to the leader of the Buntet Islamic boarding school for the support for our pair Prabowo-Gibran, which God willing, will bring Indonesia to a better, more prosperous, peaceful, and advanced country,” he concluded.
