President-elect Prabowo Subianto, who is set to assume office for the 2024-2029 term, has appealed to his supporters and volunteers from the Prabowo-Gibran alliance to uphold peace and unity in Indonesia by refraining from participating in any mass protests at the Constitutional Court.
“I urge all Indonesians, particularly the 96.2 million individuals who supported the Prabowo-Gibran ticket, to refrain from engaging in any form of protest outside the Constitutional Court or any other location. It is essential for us to safeguard our democratic stability and preserve the unity of our nation,” Prabowo stated.
While acknowledging the accusations made by his opponents, Prabowo encouraged his followers to remain calm and peaceful in their actions.
“In light of the current tensions, it is understandable to feel unsettled. Despite the passionate reactions from many, I implore everyone to stay composed and approach this situation with the goal of maintaining harmony and peace. Let us not succumb to provocations that seek to disrupt our societal tranquility,” he expressed.
Prabowo stressed the importance of exhibiting restraint and keeping a level head to prioritize the welfare of the Indonesian people and the unity of the country.
“I urge all individuals to remain calm, exercise thoughtful consideration, and demonstrate self-control. Allow the Constitutional Court and its judges to fulfill their duties with integrity, focusing on the well-being of our citizens and the future of our beloved nation,” he concluded.
