During a High-Level Strategic Cooperation Meeting, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the possibility of co-producing defense equipment. President Prabowo expressed Indonesia’s interest in collaborating with Turkish companies in joint ventures within the defense industry. He noted existing partnerships with Turkish defense companies like Roketsan, Aselsan, Havelsan, and Baykar. Despite the absence of a formal trade agreement, President Prabowo remains optimistic about increasing trade between the two nations. He also called for the finalization of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to boost both countries’ economies. President Prabowo stressed the importance of mutually beneficial trade and expressed confidence in overcoming trade barriers through cooperation between Trade Ministers.
