Canada remains firmly committed to promoting peace and stability in the region and will increase its efforts with international partners to achieve these goals. The two-state solution, with Israel and Palestine living side by side in security, remains the only viable path to a fair and lasting peace, Canada emphasized.
On July 29, 2025, Foreign Minister Anand announced a new funding of USD 30 million to help meet the humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank. Anand also announced an additional USD 10 million to the World Bank to support the role of the Palestinian Authority in stabilizing and governing the West Bank.
The USD 30 million humanitarian aid will focus on:
– Supporting logistics operations in the Jordan Corridor;
– Supporting experienced partners from the UN and Red Cross to enhance aid delivery to Gaza; and
– Incorporating Canada-funded humanitarian aid supplies into distribution channels to Gaza, including support for Jordanian Government efforts.
With the additional resources announced on July 29, 2025, Canada has allocated over USD 355 million in international aid to meet the humanitarian and civilian resilience needs of Palestinians since October 7, 2023. This includes announcing more than USD 99 million in March 2025 to support the UN, World Bank, Red Cross, and NGO partners in delivering international aid to Gaza and the West Bank, and USD 50 million announced in November 2024 to address the urgent needs of the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank.
