Ancaman Trump kirim pasukan ke Baltimore untuk tangani kejahatan

Donald Trump’s comments on Truth Social on Sunday (24/8) were believed to be a direct response to Moore’s invitation to Trump, which he described as rude and provocative. Trump, as President, indicated a preference for Moore to clean up the Crime mess before he visited for a “walk.” Trump had already deployed about 2,000 troops to Washington DC, a Democratic Party stronghold. The White House reported that hundreds of arrests had been made since the operation began. Speaking in the Oval Room of the White House on Friday (22/8), Trump stated that the mission had brought total security to Washington. “DC used to be a hellhole,” Trump said. “But now it’s safe.” On Friday, the Pentagon confirmed that unarmed troops in the US capital would now carry weapons. The troops, sent to Washington DC by several Republican-led states, have not yet been involved in law enforcement operations. They are stationed near local landmarks. According to crime statistics published by the DC Metropolitan Police Department (MPDC), violent crimes have decreased after peaking in 2023, reaching a 30-year low in 2024. Initial data for 2025 indicates that the numbers continue to decline. Overall, according to the MPDC, violent crime has declined by 26 percent this year compared to the same period in 2024, with robbery down by 28 percent. Trump also threatened to deploy troops to New York and Chicago.
